Notifications

Trackur can remind you about next steps that need attention — steps due today, overdue steps, and steps due tomorrow. Reminders arrive as browser notifications, and you manage them from the Notifications section of the Settings panel.

These are browser notifications, not push notifications

Reminders only fire while Trackur is open in a browser tab. If you close the app, you won't get any reminders until you return. The Settings panel says exactly this: "We'll notify you when the app is open and to-do steps need attention."

Enabling notifications

  1. Open the user menu and choose Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Notifications section. It reads "Get reminders when to-do steps are due."
  3. Press Enable notifications. Your browser shows its own permission prompt — choose to allow.

The first time you enable notifications, all three reminder types are switched on automatically. You can turn individual types off afterwards.

Choosing which reminders you get

Once permission is granted, the Notifications section shows three independent switches:

ToggleDescription shown in Settings
Due today"Get notified when a step is due today"
Overdue"Get notified about past-due steps"
Due tomorrow"Get a heads-up the day before a step is due"

Each toggle saves immediately to your profile, so your choices follow you across devices — unlike the reminders themselves, which are per-browser (see below). Only next steps that have a due date and aren't completed count toward reminders.

When and how reminders arrive

While a Trackur tab is open, the app checks for due steps shortly after loading and then once an hour. When a check finds something, you get a native notification per type, titled with the app name followed by:

  • "Follow-ups due today"
  • "Overdue follow-ups"
  • "Follow-ups due tomorrow"

The notification body lists up to 3 items in the form "Company — Role: to-do text", followed by "+N more" if there are additional items.

Each of the three types fires at most once per calendar day. That once-a-day tracking is saved in your browser, not on your profile — so opening Trackur in a second browser (or clearing your site data) can produce a repeat of the same notification on the same day.

If notifications are blocked

If you previously denied the permission prompt, the Notifications section shows "Notifications are blocked." with the hint "To enable, allow notifications for this site in your browser." Trackur cannot re-prompt you once the browser has recorded a block — you need to allow notifications for the site in your browser's own settings (usually via the icon next to the address bar, or the browser's site permissions page), then reload Trackur.

Unsupported browsers

If your browser doesn't support notifications at all, the section shows "Browser notifications are not supported in this browser." and no enable button appears. Switching to a current version of a mainstream browser resolves this.

Prefer an in-app view of what's due?

Notifications are optional. The amber "due" pill in the toolbar shows how many jobs have steps due today or earlier, and clicking it filters the board or table to just those jobs — see Next steps & due dates.
