Resumes
Google Drive integration
Instead of uploading a resume to Trackur, you can link files that live in your Google Drive. Linked Drive files work like any other resume in your resume library, but the file itself never leaves your Drive.
Why link from Drive
- Drive resumes are unlimited — they never count toward the "X of 10 Trackur Resumes used" limit, and there's no file-size cap.
- The file stays in your Google Drive. Trackur stores only a link to it.
- You can attach Drive resumes to jobs exactly like uploaded ones. A small Google Drive logo next to the name shows where each resume lives.
Connecting Google Drive
Open the Settings panel from the user menu, then under Integrations find the Google Drive card ("Connect to link resumes from your Google Drive.") and press Connect. You can also press Connect Google Drive in the Attach Resume section of the Add Job panel or the Edit panel, or the Connect button in the Google Drive section of the Manage Saved Resumes panel.
A popup window opens with Google's consent screen. After you approve, the popup closes itself and Trackur shows the connection as active.
Connecting Drive is a separate authorization from signing in — even if you signed in to Trackur with Google, you still need to connect Drive once before you can link files.
Trackur can't browse your Drive
Trackur asks Google for per-file access only. It can read the specific files you pick through the Google file picker — nothing else. It cannot browse, search, or open any other file in your Drive.
Picking a file
Once connected, press Pick from Google Drive (in the Attach Resume section of a job form, or in the Google Drive section of the Manage Saved Resumes panel). Google's own file picker opens, titled "Attach a resume", showing your Drive — including folders — filtered to PDF and DOCX files.
Picking a file links it to your library, and a toast confirms "Google Drive resume linked". If you picked from inside the Add Job panel or the Edit panel, the resume is also attached to that job automatically. Picking from the Manage Saved Resumes panel only adds it to the library.
Picking a file you've already linked never creates a duplicate — Trackur reuses the existing entry. From a job form, it's attached anyway, and the toast reads "Resume already in your library — attached it to this job".
Downloading
Drive resumes download from the same places as Trackur-hosted ones — the resume link on a job card, Download Resume in the Edit panel, or Download in the Manage Saved Resumes panel. Trackur fetches the file from Drive for you, so you don't need to open Google Drive yourself.
Downloads require an active connection. If Drive is disconnected, you'll see "Google Drive disconnected. Reconnect in Settings to download this resume." Any other failure — including a file that has been deleted from your Drive — shows "Failed to download resume".
Disconnecting and reconnecting
Press Disconnect on the Google Drive card in the Settings panel. A toast confirms "Google Drive disconnected". There is no confirmation dialog.
Disconnecting keeps your data intact:
- Linked Drive resumes stay in your library and stay attached to jobs.
- In the Manage Saved Resumes panel, the Google Drive list appears dimmed with an amber notice: "Reconnect Google Drive to download or pick files." The Pick from Google Drive button is replaced by a Connect button in the section header.
- Downloading and picking stop working until you reconnect.
Reconnecting restores full access to the same files — nothing needs to be re-linked. And removing a Drive resume from your library only removes Trackur's link; the file always remains in your Drive.
If the connect popup doesn't open
The Google consent screen opens in a popup window, so a popup blocker can stop it silently — you may see a "Failed to connect Google Drive" toast. Allow popups for my.trackur.app in your browser, then press Connect again. If a stale connection lapses later, picking shows "Google Drive is not connected. Please reconnect in Settings." — reconnect from the Settings panel to fix it.
