Resumes

Attaching resumes to jobs

Every job in Trackur can carry one resume from your resume library, so you always know which version you sent where. You attach, download, and swap resumes without leaving the job form.

The Attach Resume section

Both the Add Job panel and the Edit panel include an Attach Resume section. Its header shows a counter like "2 of 10 Trackur Resumes used", which counts only files uploaded to Trackur — Google Drive resumes never count toward the 10.

When your library has resumes, the section shows a dropdown (default None) listing every resume with a small source logo next to its name, so you can tell Trackur-hosted files from Google Drive files at a glance. When you have resumes from both sources, the list is grouped under Trackur Resumes and Google Drive headings.

In the Edit panel, picking a resume saves immediately — there is no Save button. In the Add Job panel, the attachment is saved together with the new job when you press Add Job.

If your library is empty, the dropdown is replaced by a full-width Upload resume button, plus Pick from Google Drive (or Connect Google Drive if you haven't connected yet) when the Google Drive integration is available.

Upload or pick without leaving the form

You never have to visit the library first. Next to the dropdown, a menu offers:

  • Download Resume — downloads the currently attached resume (Edit panel only).
  • Upload New Resume — uploads a file to Trackur (hidden once you have 10 Trackur resumes).
  • Pick from Google Drive / Connect Google Drive — links a file from your Drive.
  • Remove From Job (Edit panel) or Clear selection (Add Job panel) — detaches the resume.
  • Manage Resumes — opens the Manage Saved Resumes panel (Edit panel only).

Anything you upload or pick from inside a job form is automatically attached to that job. Picking a Drive file shows the toast "Google Drive resume linked"; re-picking a file that's already in your library never creates a duplicate — the existing entry is attached instead, with the toast "Resume already in your library — attached it to this job".

Downloading from a job card

When a job has a resume attached, its board card shows a clickable link — the source logo followed by the resume's name — below the notes. Clicking it downloads the file. The same download is available from the menu in the Edit panel's Attach Resume section.

Downloads use a friendly filename: if the resume has a label, the file saves as the label plus the original file extension (for example, Frontend Resume.pdf); otherwise it saves under its original filename. Renaming a resume in the library therefore also changes its download filename.

Google Drive resumes need an active connection

If you've disconnected Google Drive, downloading a Drive-linked resume fails with "Google Drive disconnected. Reconnect in Settings to download this resume." See Google Drive integration for reconnecting.

Removing vs. deleting

These are three different actions — only one of them deletes anything:

ActionWhereWhat it does
Remove From JobEdit panel → menuDetaches the resume from this one job. The file stays in your library.
Clear selectionAdd Job panel → menuSame thing, before the job is saved. Selecting None in the dropdown is equivalent.
Delete / RemoveManage Saved Resumes panelRemoves the resume from your library entirely and unlinks it from every job that used it.

Deleting a resume unlinks it everywhere

When you delete a resume from the resume library, every job that had it attached is automatically unlinked — the jobs themselves are untouched.
